Smart Water Meter – NB-IOT Smart Water Meter
IoT water meters can be divided into CDMA water meters, GPRS water meters, and NB IoT water meters according to data transmission methods. CDMA and GPRS belong to 2G communication technologies, which increase the difficulty and cost of management due to issues such as data transmission and data security, high power consumption of smart water meter devices, and weak wireless network coverage. NB IoT belongs to the specialized communication network of the Internet of Things, and at the same time, NB IoT has the advantages of high security, wide coverage, low power consumption, and large connectivity.
IoT water meters can be divided into small-diameter water meters (DN15-DN40) and large-diameter water meters (DN50 and above) according to their diameter. Small caliber water meters are mainly used on the user end, with relatively low frequency requirements for meter reading and no need to upload data in real time. They are mainly used to meet meter reading needs and achieve human resource liberation. Large caliber water meters are divided into measuring meters and assessment meters. The main function of measuring meters is to remotely read water usage, while assessment meters require real-time water usage data to achieve the function of assessment analysis.
Traditional water meters can no longer meet the current usage needs and cannot solve the problems in the water supply industry. However, using IoT water meters can ensure reliable, timely, and effective data transmission. With the application of NB IoT technology, the shortcomings of GPRS water meters and CDMA water meters have been compensated for, effectively solving the problems of signal coverage and power consumption. At present, the application of NB IoT water meters is becoming increasingly widespread in the water supply industry.
The composite capacitor battery independently developed by the company can well meet the technical performance requirements of the application environment for the battery. Composite capacitors (HPC) have the characteristics of maintenance free, wide temperature range, long lifespan, high capacity, and large current pulses. Energy type lithium thionyl chloride batteries (ER) have high voltage platforms and low self discharge rates, which can meet the requirements of various IoT applications. The composite capacitor battery (ER+HPC) has the characteristics of high voltage platform and large pulse, which can better meet the transmission speed and stability of big data in the Internet of Things.
